Recent times.

Needless to say, with 4 years between posts, my mind had wandered into other things that I had left this blog behind. But now I have a new found desire to maintain it with a little more content than I had done, and make it a trifle more personal.

There are many artists who's songs I do like - and I have been learning a fair number of covers over 2014. Included in this are the likes of James Blunt (Bonfire Heart), James Morrison (You Make It Real), Bon Jovi (Dead or Alive/You Give Love A Bad Name). And that's just naming 4 tunes off the top of my head. 

Also - I am a fan of Olly Murs - and through most of his mainstream releases I have liked almost every single one. But to my testament of learning covers, I have been able to learn at least 3 if not more of his tracks. Dear Darlin', Please Don't Let Me Go, and Thinking Of Me are the 3 that spring to mind.

So I'm getting to a point now where I have a number of artists where I could "Medley up" 3+ tracks.

Wouldn't that sound funky? 

I mean, I can play 4 songs by The Eagles, 3 by Olly Murs, 4 by Bon Jovi, a number that escapes me by Savage Garden, even 5 of my dad's songs I could probably tweak a medley out of. And that's without other influences such as Billy Joel/Elton John where there's at least another 4 or 5 songs for each of them.

I also got myself a new keyboard as well :O It's taken almost 14 years for my first one to actually start to have a number of issues, but there's more to come over the next few months - providing I remember to usse money constructively.

If there are any potential suggestions for tracks to learn - don't hesitate to leave them here :) I don't bite, and when I can get around to it (even if I have to change the key), I will leave a youtube link here.
